A plastic factory in the Powerhouse area of Krishnanagar Road, under the jurisdiction of Shantipur police station, was reduced to ashes in a devastating fire on Thursday morning. The incident, suspected by some locals to be a conspiracy, comes just a day before the scheduled wedding of the factory owner's daughter. According to factory workers, there has been a loss of around Rs 10 lakh due to the fire incident.
Local residents were the first to notice the fire, attempting to control the blaze in its early stages. However, as the fire escalated, two fire brigade vehicles were summoned to the scene. The fire was brought under control after about three hours of effort.
It is being told that thousands of plastic grain sacks were kept in the factory. The entire factory was burnt to ashes due to the fire. Shantipur police station is investigating the matter.
